Prayer to St. Alphonsa
Triune God, Father, Son and the Holy Spirit who dwells always in our hearts, we adore you and praise you. we thank you for your infinite compassion for crowing St. Alphonsa as the first woman Saint of the Indian Church, who bloomed in the soil of Kerala as a passion flower. “Unless a grain of whear falls into the ground and dies, it remains just a single grain; but if it dies, it bears much fruit” St Alphonsa practised this word of God in her life. We entrust our country, families and the whole human race for her intercession. By blazing with the passionate love of God, St. Alphonsa accepted suffering cheerfully and made it redemptive. Imitating this saint, give us the strength to receive the sufferings of our daily lives as your loving gifts. Help us to grow in divine virtues without being attracted by the momentary pleasures of this world. Grant us the grace to become symbols of fraternity by constantly radiating the goodness to others. Lord, through the merits and thepowerful intercession of St. Alphonsa accept all our petitions especially the special need that we ask for in her name…..(say the need) and bless us. Glorious St. Clare of Assisi, we honor you for the unfailing faith that made you reject all earthly pleasures and renounce all your possessions.
We Honor you for your life of extreme poverty and austerity, and for your prayer and penance on behalf of your nuns and the town of Assisi, Grant us dear Lady, the same faith, humility, and charity that you have shown toward God and your community.
